For my third Photo Assignment, I chose to do still life photos. Still life photos are photos of everyday things like a vase with flowers or fruit in it. I took picture mostly of games I had at my house like pool, I also took pictures of instruments as well, like a guitar. A f/6.3 SS 1/40 ISO 1600 While taking pictures, I found the most difficult thing was aligning the picture so that I can get what I want in focus to also be lit up by the lighting and also be a the angle I wanted to take it. Other than this, Still life was a fun, easy project. Being able to manipulate the object of the picture, to get exactly what you wanted is really different than taking pictures of nature, or animals, who are moving. This was a pretty fun assignment.

In this Assignment, I had to manipulate a picture of a car using photoshop. I was given the origional picture, and a demo picture that I had to replicate. During this assignment, I used many new tools in photoshop, These included clone stamp, the brush tool and learned how opacity changed these two. I ran into problems with cropping, selecting the entire car and undoing my work. Overall I learned a lot in this assignment and thought it was pretty fun.
For this Assignment, I took pictures of animals. I will use the photography techniques I learned in class to take excellent pictures of animals. These techniques will help me capture the awesomeness that is animals. A: f/4.0 SS: 1/60 ISO: 400
In this assignment, I will use layers, guides, and other photoshop tools to make an interesting picture. I will take a picture of myself, duplicate it four times and change the color of each one to make a two-by-two grid of different colored pictures. This will be a good introduction to the tools of photoshop and I am looking forward to it. In this assignment I learned about layers, hue and saturation and the threshold of an object. I struggled with copying and pasting the image, setting up the hue and saturation and setting up the canvas size.
in my next assignment, I will be taking pictures of animals. I will be trying to use what I know of shutter speed, aperture, ISO and the elements of composition to capture the personality and creativity of animals. For this post I have been inspired by:
Chris Schmid Hiroshi Tanita Damilice Mansur
Shutter speed: 1/1000 Aperture:4.0 ISO:200
In this assignment, I took pictures showing the different elements of composition. I had to go around the school and find pictures of each of the 11 styles listed below. This assignment gave me a better understanding of what I should put in a picture to really make it good. Framing: Shoes in a tree Lines: Along the building Pattern: Brick Wall perspective: up the building Balance: Ghost figures Rule of Thirds: Stop! Colors: Bottle Tops Space: Mr. Duck depth of Field: Flag Symmetry: School Banners Texture: dirt While doing this assignment, I learned a lot about how the object in your picture can be arranged or positioned to improve the quality of the picture. In the beginning I found it hard to find the different elements in the school, and this frustrated me. But, as I continued the assignment, finding pictures became easier and easier. In the end the assignment became easier and more enjoyable. I learned many of these techniques can make a picture better and more enjoyable to look at
My name is John Getty, and I am a sophomore at Saline High School. I am on the crew and robotics team and I really enjoy both rowing on the crew team and making robots. The main reason I took this class was because it looked enjoyable. My grandpa in Texas is a experienced photographer and he has inspired me to take this class and learn what this class is about.
